Working with the GuestBook script
Way2Host's GuestBook script enables you
to add a guest book to your site where your visitors can "sign" their names,
provide their contact information or leave comments, suggestions or ideas.
If you use the GuestBook script in your site, you guest book entries will
be stored in:
/www/[yourdomainname]/cgi-bin/guestbook.pl
To access the Guestbook Manager, click Website Tools then Free Scripts. When the CGI Script Manager displays, click GuestBook.
By selecting from a number of GuestBook
options, you can customize your guest book and have greater control over its
operation. To customize the GuestBook, select from the
following options:
| Options |
Description |
| Mail |
Enables you to have notifications automatically sent to a specified email address each time a new entry is added to your guest book. |
| RemoteMail |
Enables you to automatically send a form email to any user who adds his or her contact information to the guest book. |
| LinkMail |
Turns the email addresses in your guest book into hyperlinks. |
| Separator |
Select this option to separate entries in the guest book with a horizontal rule. If you do not select this option, entries will be separated as paragraphs. |
| UseLog |

| Redirection |
When selected, enables auto-redirection. When not selected, users will receive a confirmation that their entry has been received and will be provided a link to return to the guest book. |
| Entry Order |
When selected (default), new entries are added to the top. When not selected, new entries are added to the bottom of the list. The default is to add the newest entries at the top. |
| Allow HTML |
When selected, users can insert HTML tags into their guest book entries. When not selected, all text within angle brackets is removed. This option does not affect the LinkMail feature. |
| LineBreak |
When selected, line breaks within the comment field will be marked with the <br> tag in the HTML. Selecting this option enables you to retain the look of the guest book entry. |
| User URL |
When selected, an additional User URL field is added to the guest book, into which users can enter their own URL. |
