Working with the Counter script

Way2Host's Counter script enables you to use counters on your pages. These counters track the number of times visitors access a specific page within your site.

To create a new counter:

1. In SiteControl, click Website Tools, then click Free Scripts to display the CGI Scripts Manager page.
2. Click Counters. The Counter Manager page appears. Any counters you have already created appear on this page.
3. Click Add a New Counter.
4. In the New Counter Name field, enter a name for this counter.
5. In the Start Value field, enter the number at which you want this counter to start.
6. Click Update. The Counter Manager generates the code that you need to copy and paste into your HTML page where you want the counter to appear.

To reset the value of a counter:

1. In SiteControl, click Website Tools, then click Free Scripts to display the CGI Scripts Manager page.
2. Click Counters. The Counter Manager page appears.
3. Locate the counter whose value you want to change and enter the new number in the Value field.
4. Click Update. The Counter Manager generates the code that you need to copy and paste into your HTML page.
