Generating reports

Available with all Way2Host plans, the Web site analytics reporting tool provides you with detailed statistics that enable you to analyze your site's traffic. The reports provide a wide variety of information such as the most popular pages on your site, the paths people take within your site and the site from which users access your site.

File files older than two weeks are automatically removed from the system. To save these file, connect via FTP to /home/[domainname/webstats and download the files you want to save.

You can access this information in report format at:

http://www.[domainname]/stats/

Using the log file

Your plan also provides a raw log file that records, among other things, the individual files that have been accessed, what domains visitors came from and the dates and times of each visit. This log file, named access-log, is located in your home directory:

/home/[domainname]

To access this file, connect to your Web server via FTP and then download the file. You can open this file in a text editor or use it with your own web traffic analyzer.

When the optional referrer log is turned on, you can view regular domain names in your traffic report rather than IP addresses. You can request that the referrer log be turned on from within SiteControl's Plan Info module.
