Way2Host has recently implemented changes to shared hosting plans that affect email and the account types. Account type details vary depending upon when you set up your account. Please refer to the appropriate instructions below:
Advanced Mail Service
Standard Mail Service (Note: Information regarding migration to the new systems will be provided to you shortly within SiteControl.)
Advanced Mail Service
Account Type Description Master User This is the most powerful type of account. These account types provide access to your servers via FTP and POP3. Master Users can transfer files to and from the server, read and send email and log onto the server.
All hosting plans come with one Master User account by default. The default Master User account typically has the same name as your domain. For example, if your domain name is "sampledomain.com," your Master User account is most likely "sampledomain." In some cases, such as when your domain name is particularly long, the Master User name may be shortened or may differ slightly from your domain name.
You set the password for the default Master User account when you first activated your hosting account. For details, see Activating your new hosting account. FTP Account These accounts allow users to FTP files to and from any directory on the server. Subdirectory FTP Account These accounts allow users to FTP files only to a specified subdirectory. When you create a Subdirectory FTP account, a subdirectory is automatically created on the server with the same name as this account. The user will only be able to access this directory. Advanced Email Account These accounts have only email rights.
Your SiteControl login is not counted as one of these accounts. You do not use your SiteControl login for checking email or transferring files via FTP.
All hosting plans provide four different types of user accounts, each with different rights. All of these account types provide POP3 email access. The following table lists and describes the different account types.
Account Type Description Master User Also known as a "Shell" account, this is the most powerful type of account. These account types provide access to your servers via FTP, POP3 and, with some plans, SSH. Master Users can transfer files to and from the server, read and send email and log onto the server.
